Hello MFIS parents and teachers! At our last PTA meeting, our MFIS parent in charge of the Boosterthon took us through everything it takes to put on this important fundraiser. It’s a lot of work, but it’s so important for the school, and the kids really get into it! After the meeting, the kids who attended all huddled around the leaderboard in the main hallway to see which classes had the most students registered 🙂 Thanks to everyone who participated! 

Next week Monday, January 23, we are in need of volunteers to help organize and deliver the boosterthon prizes for students. If you’re interested please sign up for a time slot here https://signup.com/go/FAEeskd. From 9:00-11:00, the PTA will also be serving coffee and hosting a parent chat in room 121 – a great opportunity to find out what’s happening at the school and connect with fellow parents. MFIS apparel will also be available to check out and purchase.

The MPS Enrollment fair is Saturday, February 4th from 9:00 – 12:00 at North Division High School. We’re looking for MFIS parents to help tell incoming students and parents all about MFIS. If you’re interested, please email mfispta@gmail.com. Our funding is linked to enrollment so we really want to encourage students and parents to choose our wonderful school!

Our school Mardi Gras celebration (the evening of Thursday, February 16th) will be here before we know it. We’re so excited to be putting on an in-person event this year! It takes lots of volunteers and great ideas to make this a really excellent party, so if you’d like to help out, please send an e-mail to mfispta@gmail.com.

Students who have money in eWallets will get a chance to walk through wiith their class Friday and Monday. Parents will have a chance to shop during Parent Pick-up Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (masks required).

Bonjour et Bienvenue! My name is Mrs. Jenna Harer, Principal.

I am excited and thrilled to be your new Principal at Milwaukee French Immersion, and look forward to meeting all of my families and scholars.

This is my 15th year in education whereas I taught in Latin America for 6 years before moving to Milwaukee, WI. I’ve held various positions with Milwaukee Public Schools as an educator district wide. The last 3 years I was a middle school Assistant Principal in the Waukesha School District before returning back to serve in my community.

We all know that last year was an excruciating one for all, especially our children with continued uncertainty due to the pandemic. Rest assure that MFIS will be the rock for our families and scholars. Our commitment is to have the safest school year possible while continuing to provide a world class education.
